2009，在死寂的黑暗世界裡，Dead By Sunrise劃破了搖滾天空的第一道曙光！而這道曙光傳來的是你所最熟悉的聲音！是的，2009搖滾樂界最殺話題--聯合公園主唱查斯特（Chester Bennington）暫時放下聯合公園主唱的身份，所自組的樂團【黑暗曙光（Dead By Sunrise）】終於誕生！
Dead By Sunrise這支嶄新的組合，是由查斯特擔任主唱及創作首腦、Anthony Valcic擔任鍵盤手，另外找來樂團Julien-K裡的五位團員Ryan Shuck、Amir Derakh、Brandon Belsky、Elias Andra、Anthony “FU” Valcic分別擔任第一吉他手、第二吉他手、貝斯手、鼓手及合成樂器手，而其中的Ryan Shuck及Amir Derakh，就是曾紅極一時的工業金屬大團Orgy（歐激樂團）當中的主要成員。Dead By Sunrise的首張專輯“Out Of Ashes”，全程在洛杉磯錄製，由榮獲兩屆葛萊美獎提名的知名製作人Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance、Hoobastank、Crazy Town)精心打造。“Out Of Ashes”赤裸裸地剖開查斯特這些年來所經歷過的高潮低潮，還有各種痛苦、喜悅、矛盾…等感受，他毫無保留地探索自我皮肉之下的鬼神，帶來12首正邪心魔交戰的搖滾樂章。
